in grades 3-6 will be completing state testing during April. It is very
important that children are in school for their testing times and that they
come prepared to do their very best. You can help at home by ensuring that
students are well rested and start their day with breakfast. Check LVW school
calendar for specific dates and times.
April 24th will be our all school carnival at the La Vista REC
Bounce houses, games, prizes and food. We will have the $1 blow pop
pulls. Pay $1 and see if you can pull a lucky blow pop with the colored
bottom for a chance to pick out a prize. Back by popular demand, raffle
baskets. Various items from businesses throughout the community have
donated items for our raffle baskets. Raffle tickets are 1 for $1, 7 for
$5 or 13 for $10. Buy as many tickets as you would like for a chance to
win a season family pass to the La Vista pool, one day membership to the Henry
Doorly Zoo and more. Food and games/bounce houses will be ticket
items. Raffle baskets and blow pop pulls will be cash items. This
is a cash only night, sorry no credit cards accepted. If you would like

Sneak a Peek into the 2015-2016 School Year!
Thursday, May 7h all students currently enrolled in grades K-5 and parents are
invited to attend a special evening at La Vista West Elementary School. From
6:00-7:00 pm all parents/guardians are invited to get a preview of what the
next school year will be like for their child. Parents will visit the next
grade level, meet staff and learn how they can help their child prepare for a
successful 2015-2016 school year. Parents will be given materials that they can
use over the summer with their child. While parents participate in classroom
events, students will be engaged in activities in the gym. Hope to see you all

Book Fair May 6-8. Come stock up on books for summer reading and enter a
raffle for a free basket of books!
