Terra Nova Testing

La Vista Junior High 7th grade students will take the Terra Nova Test on Thursday, October 23rd.  The Terra Nova is a standardized achievement test taken by all students in the Papillion La Vista School District in grades three and seven.  The purpose of this achievement test is to compare students’ performance to a national sample of students who take the same test.  Results of the Terra Nova will be sent home.  We would appreciate if you would avoid scheduling appointments on the morning of Thursday, October 23rd, so that your child will be here for the tests.

Attendance

If a student will not be in school, a parent or guardian must call the school to report the absence.  Calls should be made prior to 9:30 am.  If your student has an appointment during the day, it is helpful if you call

ahead.

Online Grades

Parents may always check their student’s grades online. Logon to the ParentWeb through the La Vista Junior High webpage at: http://www.paplv.org/lavistajunior/Pages/Home.aspx and click on the For Parents navigation tab and then Access Online Grades.

Parent Web Access
· For existing HS students (except freshmen), Parent Web transcripts are still open and available. If parents have forgotten their PW username/password, refer them to helpdesk@paplv.org – they prefer emails to phone calls.
· New this school year – the Tech. Department is mailing letters to new parent web users only. If you had a PW account last year, you will not receive a letter.

Front Doors Locked During the School Day
Please remember that during the school day, the front doors of all PLSD schools are locked. Anyone wishing to enter the building will have to ring the doorbell and wait for a staff member to let them into the building. By locking the front doors, we are preventing visitors from entering the school without being first identified and appropriately checking in with the front office.
