PLSD Students Compete at State DECA Competition

            On March 19-21 students at PLSHS and PLHS participated in the Nebraska DECA Conference. As part of the conference, students can participate in a variety of competitions. For competition, each student completes a test in their category and then either presentation or role play. The students did very well and several qualified the International Conference which will be held in Orlando, Florida on April 25-28.The awards the students received are:

·        Sidney Maddalena and Bri Choyeske, PLHS, 2nd in Marketing Communications Team Decision Making*

·        Hailey Weisbeck and Makenzi Zikas, PLHS, 4th in Marketing Communications Team Decision Making*

·        Matias Ponce, PLHS, 3rd in Sports and Entertainment Marketing*

·        Decker Schneider, PLHS, 5th in Sports and Entertainment Marketing*

·        Noah Thornton and Chase Caverzagie, PLSHS, 2nd in Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making Event*

·        Kyler Caverzagie, PLSHS, 1st in Principles of Business Management and Administration*

·        Aaron Worsfold and Taylor Rippe, PLHS, 4th in Business Law and Ethics

·        Kyle Emerick and Jeffrey Paschal, PLHS, 8th in Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team

·        Kathryn Gay and Laura Kramer, PLHS, 7th in Business Law and Ethics

·        Garrett Graveline, PLHS, 1st in roleplay, 7th in Personal Financial Literacy

·        Jackson Kirby and Kevin Long, PLHS, 9th overall in Sports and Entertainment Marketing

·        Triston Fairchild and Brian Lapke, PLSHS, 6th in Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making

·        Taylor Rippe, PLHS, Member of the Month

·        Makenzi Zikas, PLHS, was voted a Vice President of Nebraska DECA

 

Selected to attend the Thrive Academy for Leadership Training

Selected to attend the Elevate Academy for Chapter Management

·        Lindsey Klingbeil, PLSHS

Selected to attend the Aspire Academy for College and Career Success

·        Skylar Shaner, PLSHS

 

Other Awards

·        Chase Caverzagie, PLSHS, received the Bobby Foehlihger Living a Legacy Memorial Scholarship

·        PLSHS named Distinguished Chapter of the Year

·        PLSHS Advisor Bubba Penas named Outstanding DECA Advisor
