PLSD Zoo Academy Students Compete at State Science Fair

Recently students from the Zoo Academy participated in the State Science Fair at Nebraska Wesleyan in Lincoln.  Senior, Elena Thornhill competed in the Cellular Biology section with her project “Taking Lemurs for a R.I.D.E. (Revision in DNA Extraction).  Elena qualified in the top 10 and is invited to attend the National Science Fair in Chicago in February.  Senior Krysten Fries received the Physiology award for her project called “Does size matter?  A case study: Does Grind Size Influence the Frequency of Vomiting/Regurgitation in Malayan Tiger”.
