Snow Make Up Days Scheduled for May 23rd and 24th
With currently having missed four days of school due to inclement weather, it has been decided that two snow days will be made up to compensate for missed instructional time.  The school year will now be extended through May 24. This will make May 22nd and May 23rd full days of school and May 24th, the last day of school, a half day. In an effort to protect vacation plans for both students and staff, there is no plan to utilize spring break to make up for snow days. May the sun keep shining!

PARENT VOLUNTEEERS NEEDED!
We have been using our doorbell for the last few weeks in order to improve the safety and security of our building.  Until we have some additional hardware installed over the summer, we are using our office staff to answer the doorbell every time it rings.  We have found that there are a couple of times each day that are extremely busy, and as a result, we are asking for parent volunteers who would be willing to come in for 30 to 60 minutes a day to assist with letting visitors into the building.  The times we need help are 11:15-12:15, and 2:30-3:00.  If you could volunteer for one or more days per week for either of these times, please contact the office and we will get you trained and ready to help.   Thank you for your assistance!

**Kindergarten Roundup will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013**
It’s hard to believe that it is already time to start thinking about enrolling your child for Kindergarten in the fall, but we are starting to put a list together of parents to contact.  If you have a child who will be 5 years old by July 31, 2013 or if you know of someone who has a child eligible to start kindergarten, please have them call the office at 402-898-0408 to enroll/register.  Contact Mandy Spearman (402) 898-0408 or email mspearman@paplv.org with your information.

Executive Board Members Wanted!!!
We are looking to fill the President (or Co-President) and the Treasurer position for the next school year. It is a two year term and the rewards are many. Not only does your child think it's really cool, but you will be instrumental in planning activities that enhance the joy the students experience at school. Don't let the title intimidate you, it really is easy and there are a lot of great parents out there to help support you. Look for the Nomination Ballot to come home soon in the Friday Folders. Simply return the ballot to your teacher by April 30th and plan to attend the election held at our last PTO Meeting on Thursday, May 9th at 6:30 pm.
